Panther Swimming and Diving Prepares for Coyote Extravaganza

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI swimming and diving returns to the pool this weekend at the Coyote Extravaganza in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the Midco Aquatic Center.

Hosted by South Dakota, the meet includes South Dakota State, Sioux Falls, St. Thomas, St. Cloud State and New Augustana. The competition will be counted as twelve individual doubles competitions for UNI. Last year, the Panthers had nine Extravaganza wins, falling only to South Dakota on the first day of competition.

UNI enters the Extravaganza with the fastest seed times in three events this weekend, with at least one top-five seed in each of the other scheduled events.

The Panthers just finished third at the MVC Showcase against Indiana State, Illinois State and UIC two weeks ago. Second year Faith Larsen won the 50 and 100 yard freestyle, and junior Amber Finke won the 200 meter backstroke. As well as picking up three wins over the weekend, the UNI comebacks posted a season-best 15 times.

Currently, Larsen leads the Missouri Valley Conference in the 50-yard freestyle and is third in the 100-yard freestyle. Finke placed in the top three in the 100 and 200 yard backstroke events. In the 200 meter freestyle, second year Hallory Domnick is ranked fourth. On the boards, reigning champion of the 3 meters MVC, Taylor Hoganranks fifth in the 3-meter standings.

Live results will be available on the MeetMobile app, on and on DiveMeets.
