Dog owners can now take their pooches to watch canine-themed movies at the cinema
THIS cinema comes with multi-story barking – because dogs are allowed to watch the movies.
Every Monday, pooches and owners lap up canine-themed movies, including Lassie, with snacks provided.
But 2021’s violent The Power of the Dog is less likely to appeal to the excitable pooches at Manchester’s Ducie Street Warehouse.
Manager Nathan Wrigglesworth, 27, said: “It’s absolute chaos but it’s controlled chaos and that’s what people love about it.
“People don’t just want to walk their dogs anymore – they want to involve them in their whole lives.
“I’ve seen people take their dogs out for drinks and dinner – that’s how the world goes.”
As well as providing snacks for owners, Ducie Street makes sure the pups stay well nourished – offering them a range of locally sourced treats and even ‘pawpcorn’.
Keeping the dogs calm in front of the big screen has proven difficult, but Nathan says that’s part of the fun.
Nathan said: “Only humans have seats – depending on their size, some dogs sit on their lap or on the floor.
“Most of them are off leash, running around saying hello to each other.
“Whether the dogs actually watch the movie is still up for debate.
With dozens of dog movies to choose from, the team has specially selected movies that they think dogs will enjoy the most.
