Coleman joins 2022-23 Coyote roster
South Dakota Men’s Basketball Head Coach Eric Peterson is pleased to announce the signing of Jeremiah Coleman to the 2022-23 squad. Coleman is a 6-0 point guard from Parker, Colorado, and will join the Coyotes after graduating from Colorado Prep this spring.
“Jeremiah stands out for being athletic and explosive on the court,” Peterson said. “He’s a very capable scorer, but he also knows how to lead a team as a pass-first point guard. He’s a perfect fit and we’re delighted to have him join the Coyote family.”
Coleman made an impact early in his high school career starting for Chaparral High School in his second season. He took on the responsibility of commanding the lineup of a team ranked in the top 10 of Class 5A. Coleman was second on the team with 10.7 points per game and led the team in assists per game (2.5) and steals per game (1.8). His team reached the Elite 8 that season, and Coleman is the only player in his school’s history to make the first team in all conferences as a sophomore. After his second season, Coleman continued to play for Colorado Prep under former San Antonio Spurs great James Silas in the Grind Session league. The Grind Session league has produced over 1,400 Division I scholarships and 700 professional basketball players, including such notables as Jamal Murray, LaMelo Ball and Jalen Green.
Coleman is the son of Sunny and Zsanae Coleman. He plans to study media and journalism in South Dakota.
